A vote given to Congress goes to TRS, and a vote that goes to TRS goes to MIM, says Sambit Patra, national spokesperson, BJP

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesperson Sambit Patra said that while the BJP was fighting the GHMC elections for people, the TRS-MIM were fighting the polls for their family and friends.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, the BJP leader has appealed to the people to come in large numbers to vote for BJP and pack off the TRS-MIM.

Mounting an all-out attack against TRS-MIM, he said the fortune (Bhagya) of Bhagyanagar (Hyderabad) was left in the hands of two families and the development and prosperity of the city had exited from the backdoors.

He said, "A vote given to Congress goes to TRS, and a vote that goes to TRS goes to MIM." In support of his statements, the BJP leader said that the MIM of Owaisi had got five seats in the recently-held Bihar Assembly elections. When it was time to take the oath, the five MIM MLAs had refused to utter the word Hindustan, as there was the word 'Hindu' in it and instead chose to take oath on 'Bharat'. But one should remember how the MIM chief Asadduddin Owaisi had earlier had vowed on the floor of the parliament that he would not utter the word 'Bharat Matha', even if someone put a knife to his throat.

The BJP leader said the GHMC elections were a democratic battle for a strong and united Bharat and there was a need to defeat anti-national forces. Besides, calling the MIM chief as Neo Jinnah, he demanded Owaisi to clarify his stand on India PM issue before the people of Hyderabad.

Sambit Patra came down heavily on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Minister KT Rama Rao referring to MIM chief's right hand, Khaza Bilala Ahmed, stating that Old City has Asaduddin Owaisi as its chief minister. Even KCR has to take prior permission to enter there. He asked KTR, whether Old City was a different country and one needs visa to go there?

The BJP leader said, "Ek desh mein do vidhan, do pradhan aur do nishan nahi chalenge (There cannot be two constitutions, two prime ministers and two flags in one nation)". Referring to the electoral promise of the double bedroom houses to the poor in the State, he said, Pragati Bhavan (of CM KCR) and Razakar Nizam Bhavan (of MIM chief Asadduddin Owaisi) have got unlimited bedrooms. But, people of Hyderabad could not get even a single bedroom house even after five years. He said that 'Pragati' had happened to the two families and people got only 'Nirgati' (misfortune).
