Hyderabad: The BRS has shifted its focus to the ensuing biennial election for two Legislative Council seats under the Graduates quota, with the party leadership deciding to initiate a comprehensive voter enrolment drive. BRS Working President KT Rama Rao and BRSLP Deputy Leader T Harish Rao held a high-level meeting with former ministers and public representatives from undivided Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy, and Khammam districts on Tuesday to review election preparedness. Party leaders resolved to convene meetings with sitting and former MLAs soon, while directing cadres to treat the council polls as a prestige battle.
Deliberations centered on systematic voter enrolment strategies, as Election Commission regulations mandate fresh applications for graduates seeking voting rights. Senior leaders urged cadres to replicate the intensity demonstrated during previous polls that ensured candidate Surabhi Vani Devi victory. Instructing representatives on strategic action plans, party leaders highlighted widespread discontent against the ruling Congress administration among students, unemployed youth, government employees, and educated graduates.
Expressing confidence that BRS would emerge victorious across both constituencies, attendees noted that rising public dissatisfaction across all social sections presents a favorable political climate. The party decided to work systematically from the outset, with combined district representatives scheduled to meet again shortly to formulate a concrete strategy. The party leadership will also meet sitting and former legislators to further refine campaign tactics and streamline field operations. Through coordinated enrolment drives and proactive ground management, the party aims to maximize voter registration and secure a decisive victory in the upcoming council elections.
