Patancheru: District CITU committee member Nageswar Rao said here on Monday that the union would take up a relentless struggle across the country for achieving rights for the Anganwadis. Speaking after releasing a poster on the third Telangana Anganwadi Workers' Mahasabha to be held on November 10 and 11, Rao called for efforts to oppose the Central government's policies in depriving the Anganwadis of their rights in securing ICDS schemes.

Rao wanted both the Central and the State governments to increase the wages of Anganwadi staff and provide them facilities like summer holidays. Rao said the CITU has decided to take up a fight for meeting the demands of the Anganwadis in the State. He called for huge public participation in the mahasabha to make it successful. Among the CITU leaders present were Srinivas, Manjula, Vijayalakshmi, Srilata.
