Safilguda: Commuters waiting at the Krupa complex bus stop near Safilguda Lake are facing hardship, especially during rainfall, as there is no proper bus stop in this area.

The locals had complained to the authorities concerned in this regard, but no action has been taken. As the stop has many shops nearby, there is no place to build a bus stop there due to which the locals have to wait with no shelter from rain and shine.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Monday, Shekhar, a daily commuter, said, "Shops and bakery were there before the bus stop was proposed there. Now the GHMC has come up with a plan of extending the road, which will solve the issue. But the plan needs to be executed immediately."

He further added, "There is a dedicated bus stop for buses going to ECIL from Secunderabad but there is no place for a bus stop for buses coming from ECIL towards Secunderabad. This is a pure example of poor planning by the civic authorities."

Chandra Shekhar, Owner of Utsav Bakery beside the road said, "This is a long-forgotten issue and nobody is taking any initiative to resolve it. The bus stop is at a junction due to which there is traffic jam most of the times causing chaos."

Sometimes, the buses are running late and the commuters have to wait for hours. The buses fail to stop there sometimes, thus, compounding the problem of commuters. Many people travel from this area to Secunderabad and Mehdipatnam have to wait for hours for a bus.

Rajesh, another daily commuter, said, "There is a need of a bus stop here and the authorities should come up with a solution for it as it causes a problem to commuters. We have no other option but to keep waiting on the road under the scorching sun and rains as there is no place for a bus stop there."
