Vikarabad: Though the state government is pitching for the speedy disposal of farmer's grievances, nothing seems to have changed with regard to the official lethargy. Farmers are still waiting for hours together for the arrival officers, passbooks and various benefits under 'Rythu Bandhu' scheme, etc.

Farmers were seen waiting under the blazing sun for the officials on Monday at the Tahsildar's office in Mominpet. District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam and Joint Collector Aruna Kumari repeatedly directed the officers to address the issues of farmers immediately. Even MLA Dr Anand also asked the officers not to trouble farmers for anything during his reviews, though there was no change in the situation.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Monday, a farmer said he had been making rounds several times till now to get his passbook. Another farmer lamented that he did not receive financial assistance from the State government and no official was available to address his issue. They alleged that the officials were skipping their duties to evade the rush of the people.
