Farmers told to take preventive steps against pests

Patancheru: Suresh Babu, ADA in Agriculture department, on Wednesday advised farmers to take preventive steps in advance against pests which strike during the monsoon so as to be able to secure higher output.

Babu was speaking during an awareness programme in Nandigama village on the checking 'Kathi Purugu' which attack maize and 'Gulabi Purugu'. He said farmers should take preventive steps based on the advise given by the department. The ADA urged all ryots to avail of the benefit of crop insurance scheme.
