The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated at Kendriya Vidyalaya-1, Uppal, in a befitting manner. Customary guard of honour was presented to Principal Srinivasa Raju, the chief guest for the function, by the NCC cadets.

Colourful cultural items were presented by the enthusiastic students. Inmates of the orphanage Asha Kuteer visited the school and they were given notebooks donated by each student of the Vidyalaya under the programme 'Donate a book,' a noble initiative started by K Sharmila, a teacher, under the guidance of principal
