Hyderabad: Telangana state BJP official spokesperson NV Subhash on Friday said that the fire accident in the newly constructed Telangana secretariat has raised questions on the safety and standard of the six-storied building.

Demanding a thorough inquiry into the incident, Subhash asked as to why Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is in a hurry to inaugurate the new secretariat building before the completion of all works including woodwork inside the building. Is he worried about the chances of his BRS party in the next elections? the BJP leader said.

It was unfortunate that before the inauguration, the new secretariat building caught fire raising questions about the safety measures and quality of construction of the building, mooted Subhash.

In wake of the fire incident, the inauguration of the new secretariat building should be postponed; he demanded and said there should be no compromise on safety measures of the building as it was built using people's money, he added.
