Harish Rao slams Revanth over ‘diversion politics’

Hyderabad: BRSLP Deputy Leader T Harish Rao on Tuesday criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Congress government over the recent incidents in the Assembly and the alleged attacks on BRS leaders and legislators was shameful.

Speaking at Jawahar Nagar Police Station, Harish Rao said, “Revanth Reddy is using diversion politics because he does not want the real issues of Telangana to be discussed in the Assembly. Revanth Reddy, remember one thing. You may change newspaper headlines with diversion politics, but you cannot change the lives of the people. You may change social media trends, but you cannot change the problems of farmers and students. You cannot change the people’s verdict through diversion politics.”

The BRS leader said that farmers were asking about the promised Rs 4,000 pension. They are asking where the increased Rythu Bharosa was. Even after 1,000 days, the Congress government’s six guarantees have not been fully implemented, he alleged demanding all pending dues be paid immediately.

He said that the students were waiting for fee reimbursement. Government employees were waiting for PRC and DA. Even during difficult times such as COVID and demonetisation, the KCR government cleared thousands of crores in fee reimbursement dues and supported students.

Harish Rao condemned the alleged incidents involving BRS women MLAs in the Assembly. “How can the Speaker say that there was no attack on women MLAs when the entire country witnessed the visuals? When complaints were given, cases were not registered.

Instead, cases were filed against the women MLAs, who alleged that they were attacked. This is completely unacceptable. If there was no wrongdoing, why are the women MLAs not being given an opportunity to speak? Why are they not being allowed to raise the issue in the Assembly?”
