The 10th edition of Hyderabad Triathlon was held on Sunday with over 1,200 enthusiasts participating at India’s largest open triathlon. A triathlon involves three sporting disciplines of swimming, cycling and running.

Gachibowli: The 10th edition of Hyderabad Triathlon was held on Sunday with over 1,200 enthusiasts participating at India's largest open triathlon. A triathlon involves three sporting disciplines of swimming, cycling and running.

Over 1,200 participants across all categories vied against one another. The mini triathlon was targeted at young kids of age 5 and above and consisted of 50 meters swimming, 4 km cycling and 1 km running. The triathlon involved 300 meters swimming, 8 km cycling and 2 kilometer running.

The Professional Triathlon level categories included the ½ Iron, which involved 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling, 21.1 kms running. The Olympic Triathlon consisted of 1.5 km Swimming, 40 Kms cycle and 10 Km running and the Sprint Level included 20 kms of cycling, 5 kms of run and 750 meters of swimming.

In the Duathlon Categories, the Power duathlon consisted of 21.1 Km run,90 kms cycle and again 10 kms run. The Super duathlon involved 15 km run, 60 kms by bicycle and 10 kms run; the Olympic duathlon involved 10 kms run, 40 kms by bicycle and 5 km run done in a sequence.

The event conducted by the Great Hyderabad Adventure Club (GHAC), was held at the GMC Balayogi Gachibowli Stadium and ICFAI Business School, Donthanapally.
