A three-year-old girl who was kidnapped from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station in Hyderabad has been traced by the city police within 24 hours. The girl, Avantika was kidnapped by a couple -- Parvathamma (30) and Sangamoni Shivudu (31) from MGBS on Saturday evening.

Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar said Avanthika had come along with her mother Sangati Jaya, a native of Kurnool district to the city on Saturday night and took a bus to Karnataka from MGBS. Jaya's sister Laxmi and the latter's husband Nagaraju also accompanied the mother and daughter

Nagaraju who boarded the bus at MGBS got down from the bus. Lakshmi also got down from the bus to convince her husband to accompany them to Karnataka. In the meantime, Jaya and Avantika also got down along with other children from the bus.

"Shivudu and Parvathamma who were present at the MGBS to catch a bus to Mahbubnagar noticed Avantika at the bus stop and kidnapped the girl. To avoid the police, they headed to Dabeerpura railway station and spent the night there. Next day afternoon, the duo went to Puranapul bus stand and from there took a bus to Mahbubnagar," said Anjani Kumar.

Jaya who noticed her daughter went missing approached the police who immediately formed seven special teams and tracked the movement of the kidnappers with the CCTV cameras at the bus station. On learning the kidnappers along with the child took a bus to Mahbubnagar the police alerted the local police there.

The special teams tracked the kidnappers in Mahabubnagar and rescue the girl, the CP said adding that the couple kidnapped the girl as they did not have children.
