Hyderabad: Major initiative afoot to make youth future-ready

Nampally: Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) and Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) IT-ITeS Sector Skills NASSCOM in association with Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) and Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) have unveiled Future Skills PRIME Platform for the state of Telangana.

A TSCHE statement said here on Friday that the initiative is supported by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

The programme was launched by Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Telangana Industries & Commerce, and Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C) Department, in the presence of Prof T Papi Reddy, Chairman, TSCHE, Prof R Limbadri, Vice-Chairman, TSCHE, Prof V Venkata Ramana, Vice-Chairman, TSCHE and Shrikant Sinha, CEO, TASK.

Jayesh Ranjan congratulated the organisations involved in making the initiative a reality and said, "Rapid adoption of digital can help maintain normalcy and rebound from adversity. Emerging technologies will play an important role and Telangana students must lead this transformation". The year 2020 was celebrated as the year of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Telangana. The learning must continue. Has to be made practical and experimental at the intersection of academics and industry, he said.

Prof T Papi Reddy, Chairman, TSCHE, congratulated the AICTE, NASSCOM and TASK who have come together on this occasion and have collaborated with TSCHE for enhancing the skills of students and making them more employable and job ready. He complemented the efforts of NASSCOM and assured all support to their initiatives. Prof V Venkata Ramana, the Vice-Chairman of TSCHE, spoke about the initiative and explained how it will be beneficial to be part of the Future Skills Prime ecosystem. He urged students and faculty to take advantage of this initiative to upskill their knowledge and skill with futuristic courses on the platform. He added that the state is already the chosen educational hub of the country in addition to skill development.

Speaking about the initiative, Shrikant Sinha, CEO of TASK, said, "Future Skills Prime provides courses on emerging technology, free of cost that will be extremely beneficial for students, faculty members and the management of education boards and institutions". Dr Sandhya Chintala, Vice-President of NASSCOM and CEO of IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council, NASSCOM, introduced the Digital 101 initiative by Future Skills Prime that aims to bring key technical and business skills to students for professional success." Dr Buddha Chandra Shekar, CCO NEAT, AICTE, urgedthe youth to upskill in emerging technology to stay competitive in the industry and pioneer innovation as well.

The programme will offer a robust online platform to encourage remote and self-paced learning. Many awareness-building modules will be free to access, allowing the maximum number of participations. Under the Programme, 4.12 lakh learners will get subsidised access to certified courses in any of the 10 identified emerging technologies (Artificial Intelligence, Internet of things, Big Data Analytics, Robotic Process Automation, Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing, Cloud Computing, Social & Mobile, Cyber Security, Augmented/Virtual Reality and Blockchain.)

Kirti Seth, Co-Architect & Head, FutureSkills Prime at NASSCOM, said, "NASSCOM FutureSkills PRIME is a bold step in the direction of reskilling India's youth in the emerging technologies, preparing them for the digital future. This The partnership with TASK and the government of Telangana demonstrates how government, industry and academia are coming together towards enabling the state to take the lead in creating a pool of digitally skilled talent and contributing towards the common purpose of making India the Digital Talent Nation for the world".
