Darulshifa: Due to insufficient funds, Telangana State Wakf Board (TSWB) allegedly for the first time failed to organise Qutub Shahi Ashoorkhana's traditional festivities triggering uproar from BJP leadership represented by Shia community.

Under the supervision of TSWB for the past several years religious functions (Jashn) like Jashn Babul-e-Hawej is organised during the month of Shaaban (Islamic month) and Jashn Kohe Imam-e-Zamin during Zilqad (another month) at Kohe Imam-e-Zamin located at Trimulgherry. But this year for the first time, allegedly due to non-availability of funds this has been deferred. BJP Minority Morcha leaders held that Wakf also contrives to destroy Daira-Mir-Momin in Sultan Shahi, Ashoorkhana Imam Bada in Rein Bazar.

Diyanath Ali Khan, president BJPMM said that an amount of Rs 1 crore earmarked each year for the celebrations at Kohe Imam-e-Zamin at Trimulgherry have been invested in construction of the building at Haj House in Nampally. "Even after many representations given from various Shia community members, due to non release of budgetary funds, the Jashn has been neglected this year", he added.

Demanding the resignation of those who are responsible for neglecting the traditions, Mir Diyanath Ali held Minister of Welfare, Advisor to Chief Minister, TSWB Chairman, TSWB CEO, and the Shia member of TSWB as responsible for undermining the issues of religious concern.

He also demanded the Wakf Board to return back the amount earmarked each year for festivities of Kohe Imam-e-Zamin and to protect properties of Shia community.
