Chikkadpally: In response to the call given by the PM Narendra Modi on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, BJP leaders have been conducting Gandhi Sankalp Yatra in every assembly constituency. On Tuesday, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy flagged off Gandhi Sankalp Yatra in Musheerabad assembly constituency from Venkateshwar Temple at Chikkadpally.

BJP state president Dr K Lakshman, BJYM state president Bharath Goud and large number of local BJP and BJYM activists participated in the Sankalp Yatra. The yatra, which was taken up for seven to eight kilometers passing through several colonies in the constituency, ended at TRT committee hall in Ramnagar.

Speaking at TRT committee hall after the yatra, the Union Minister said that the yatra would promote village self-rule, swatch Bharath and need for strengthening local bodies. The yatra was taken up to raise awareness on Gandhi's principles among people, he said.

The parties which claim that Gandhi is their leader have never cared to promote Gandhi's principles while the BJP government led by Modi has taken several measures to teach youth on Gandhi's principles and aspirations, he said.

Kishan Reddy called upon people to keep their surroundings clean, and strive for ensuring plastic-free society, as per the call given by PM Modi. Professor Satyanarayana, Bharath Goud, Vinay, Shivaji, Naveen Goud and a large number of BJP and BJYM activists were among those who participated in the yatra.
