Musheerabad: Leaders of several BC organisations on Sunday represented to Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy to rectify the 'irregularities' in the recent selection of 16,025 police constables.

The leaders National BC Welfare Association Vice-president Vijaykrishna and Unemployed JAC Chairman Venkatesh, along with several PC candidates, met Reddy at his Hyderguda office.

They alleged that hundreds of candidates "who got more marks did not get selected because of injustice done to them." They demanded release of district-wise group-wise reservations applied in the recruitment, while pleading for rendering of justice to the candidates.

The minister assured the leaders that he would strive to render justice, if the marks secured by the candidates were more than the cut-off marks declared by the Police Recruitment Board. He said no meritorious candidate would be allowed to suffer.
