Legal awareness camp held at Central Prison
“The accused is not guilty until proven,” said Swathi Reddy, secretary, Metropolitan Legal Services Authority (MLSA), during a legal awareness camp held at Central Prison in Chanchalguda on Wednesday.

Swathi Reddy explained regarding 'plea bargaining' to the prisoners and interacted with all the undertrial inmates. She spoke on legal rights of prisoners in judicial custody and assured extending legal services like obtaining bail/plea bargaining etc, to the poor, deserved prisoners in engaging an advocate on State cost.
The superintendent of prisons, Dr D Srinivas expressed gratitude for the efforts of the authority in extending services to the prisoners who deserved legal aid under law, which facilities for speedy disposal of long-standing cases. Deputy superintendent S Srinivas Reddy, jailors V Shashikanth, R Srinivas and other officers were present.
