The Amberpet Devasthanam’s Mahankali ‘Ghatotsavam’ began on Monday with performance of traditional special pooja to the deity. Mora Narsing Rao carried the ‘ghatam’ and went in a huge procession along the main roads along with the dappu/oggu teams and a band.

Amberpet: The Amberpet Devasthanam's Mahankali 'Ghatotsavam' began on Monday with performance of traditional special pooja to the deity. Mora Narsing Rao carried the 'ghatam' and went in a huge procession along the main roads along with the dappu/oggu teams and a band.

The procession reached the Gandhi statue on the main road and performed special pooja to the 'Potha Linganna' ('boddurai') and returned to the shrine. Local MLA Kaleru Venkatesh participated in the 'ghatam edurkolu' programme. Speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday, he said that had worshipped the deity wishing for peace and happiness for people of the State. The MLA said the Mahankali Bonalu Festival would be organised on a grand scale on July 28 and 29.

Among those present were Temple founder and Seva Samiti member Gaddam Lakshman Goud, former corporator Jnaneshwar Goud, B Venkat Reddy, M Sambasiva Goud, Chintala Srinivas Mudiraj, Rangampalli Raju,K Raghavendra Reddy, Narsing Rao, Gaddam Srinivas Goud,D Kishore, V Mahender Reddy, Pandu, Kota Anilkumar and Chengalla Sudhakar.
