Secunderabad: Staff nurses and brothers, who were appointed by a private agency UCDF in Gandhi Hospital three years ago but removed as their donors failed to provide aid, sought permission from the hospital superintendent Dr Shravan Kumar to work for free for a month in the hospital.

On Saturday, they were led by Krishna Pujari, a volunteer who aids patients coming to the hospital, to the hospital superintendent. Staff nurses and brothers expressed their willingness to offer their services freely for one month keeping in mind patient needs and submitted a memorandum in this regard to the superintendent.

Appreciating their offer to serve patients freely, the superintendent assured them of all the possible help from him to get them reinstated in the hospital. He said that he has taken the issue to the notice of Telagana health minister Etela Rajender who promised him to provide possible assistance to them.

He suggested the staff nurses to meet the minister, as he is expected to visit the hospital shortly. Among the staff nurses and brothers who met the superintendent include Soundarya, Suvarna, Sandhya, Dhanama, Shankar and Lakshman.
