Attapur: The International Nagar Kirtan of Sri Guru Nanak Parkash Yatra (Sikh religious procession) that started from Lahore in Pakistan from August 1 reached Hyderabad on Monday to a resounding reception.

The yatra is part of the 550th Birth anniversary celebrations of First Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Devji, founder of Sikhism 2019 to spread Guru Nanak Devji's teachings of eternal love, peace, equality and brotherhood across the globe and has entered India from Pakistan, through Wagah border in Punjab. The yatra covered various parts of the country covering major cities and towns.

Thousands of Sikhs welcomed by showering petals and flowers on the holy saroop from Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of the first Sikh master near Kandlaykoya Oxygen Park, CMR Group of Institutions, Kandlakoya, Medchal ORR Junction, after getting rousing reception there the yatra passed through ORR road and and arrived at Pillar Number 143 on PVNR Expressway, Attapur, Rajendranagar this evening.

From pillar number 143 at Attapur, a colourful procession called Nagar Kirtan of Palki Saheb, Sri Nishan Saheb of all Gurudwara Saheb of Telangana was taken out from Attapur to Gurudwara Saheb, Barambala, Sikh Chawniat, Attapur at around 9 pm.

The International Nagar Kirtan yatra will have a night stay at Gurudwara Saheb, Barambala on Monday. On September 17 (Tuesday), the International Nagar Kirtan of Sri Guru Nanak Prakash Yatra will start from the Gurudwara Barambala at 9 am and will leave for Gurudwara Nanak Jhira Bidar, Karnataka.
