Hyderabad: TRS MPs on Friday suspected that as part of election stunt Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the Hyderabad city, would talk about free Covid vaccine supply.
The party's Lok Sabha leader Nama Nageswara Rao said that even Prime Minister Modi was coming to Hyderabad campaign indirectly. "He is coming to the city to talk on Bharat Biotech vaccine programme. He may talk about giving free vaccines to the people, which will be nothing but an election stunt. People should be cautious," said Rao, adding that the same was said during the Bihar elections. He said that the Prime Minister could have said a free vaccine to all the people of the country.
The TRS leader lashed out at BJP MPs for not bring any benefits to the State. He said there were four MPs from the State but they never talked on the interests of the State in Parliament. He asked why the BJP leaders did not question the denial of flood relief to Telangana at a time when the aid was given to Gujarat and Karnataka.
Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav alleged that the BJP leaders made Maharashtra leader Devendra Fadnavis to announce the party's manifesto so that when the people question them on unfulfilled promises, they can escape by stating that they have not announced. He questioned how the BJP leaders could include the issues not in the purview of the local bodies? He questioned whether or not the Maharashtra leader knows the issues which come under GHMC and state government. "The BJP leaders talk of giving free vaccines to the people. Do they mean that they will not give it free in other parts of the country," questioned Srinivas Yadav.
Act against Tejasvi
TRS on Friday lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission to initiate action against MP and BJYM leader Tejasvi Surya for participating and addressing a political party meeting at Osmania University Campus in violation of the orders. The TRS leaders led by MLC M Sreenivas Reddy said that the High Court had directed the government "not to allow any political party or political meetings on Osmania University campus' in a pending case. The MP's political meeting in the campus is nothing but contempt of court orders, illegal and clearly establishes an unlawful campaign as the place is prohibited from holding meetings. The party wanted the SEC to issue a show cause notice, asking him why he cannot be removed from his post and is not liable for other legal measures.
