Public participation key to success of Swachh prog: VK singh
Speaking on the occasion, VK Singh said that all the jails in the state were transformed due to the cleanliness awareness created among prisoners.
Nampally: Printing and Stationery Department Commissioner VK Singh said that Swachh Bharath and Swachh Telangana programmes cannot be realised only with government enforcement, without public awareness and public participation in cleanliness activities. He was speaking during the cleanliness awareness rally organised by Jan Seva Sangh here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, VK Singh said that all the jails in the state were transformed due to the cleanliness awareness created among prisoners. The same effort, however, could not be replicated across the state and the city due to lack of awareness and participation of the public. He hoped that the city of Hyderabad would be transformed into a beggar- and garbage-free city within a year. He urged people to unitedly fight to create awareness on cleanliness and strive for clean surroundings.
