Road-widening works soon at Borabanda
Widening of the 3-km stretch would reduce the commuting time by 15 minutes to reach Hi-Tec City through Borabanda
Borabanda: The driving hurdles for the motorists to reach Hi-Tec City through Borabanda are to end soon. Road-widening works are all set to begin as the cheque distribution for the property owners is underway. The road widening of the 3-km stretch would reduce the commuting time by 15 minutes.
Over 219 properties have been affected with the works, out of which 96 properties are under land acquisition and 162 properties in private negotiation. The road widening works was delayed till the receival of owners' consent and official process. "The road widening works would begin after encroachments are removed," said Veera Swamy, ACP, Town Planning wing, GHMC.
Borabanda to NRR Puram stretch has nine government properties, 212 private properties and three religious properties. In which 57 properties are under land acquisition, 162 are under private negotiation. Auditing is underway for 42 properties and six property owners received cheques for Rs 73.6 lakh and cheques for Rs 3.23 crore are under process.
The other two stretches, Yousufguda Checkpost to Sriram Nagar stretch and AG Colony to Natraj Nagar stretch are also to be widened and the process is being delayed by the residents.
