Tax defaulters warned of legal action
Malkajgiri circle GHMC Deputy Commissioner T Dasharath warned that necessary legal action would be initiated against defaulters of property tax. He was speaking at a meeting held with bill collectors and tax inspectors at GHMC circle office here on Thursday.

Addressing the meeting, he said that in the current financial year only Rs 25.12 crore as against the set target of Rs 47.64 crore was collected. As the last date for the payment was nearing, the District Collector had given instructions to initiate measures to collect property tax dues, he said.
He warned business establishment that their trade licenses would be cancelled if all the dues were not paid in time. Valuation officer Suresh Kumar, tax inspectors, bill collectors, property tax department officials and others attended the meeting.
