Parigi: Though officials and rulers are trumpeting about the development, especially in the education sector, there are still some remote areas, where poor students have to walk over 10 kilometres to reach their school.

This is the plight of students from Gubbadi Thanda of Gadi Singapur. Only one bus form state road transport corporation passes through the village. All the students cannot board the bus as it becomes full always.

Those students who are left have to walk all the distance to the school. M Swathi, a class 10 student said students of private schools are picked up by their buses. "As we are from poor families and cannot afford private school, we joined government schools and we don't have transport facility," she lamented. While returning, girl students face hardships, in case of late or rains. Students and their parents are appealing authorities to address the issue.
