VIT Bags Careers360 Award for research excellence

Vellore: Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has received the prestigious Careers360 Research Excellence Award for its achievements in academics and cutting-edge research.

VIT won the honour in the university category following a multidimensional assessment covering universities, engineering, law, medicine, management and pharmacy. The evaluation analysed National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) parameters and Scopus scholarly output over five years from 2020 to 2025.

The award was presented at the India Research and Impact Summit in New Delhi recently. VIT Vice-President Dr Sekar Viswanathan attended the event, while Vice-Chancellor V S Kanchana Baaskaran received the award from Padma Shri J D Yadav, former Vice-Chancellor of the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai.

Dr Sekar Viswanathan also participated in a panel discussion on measuring research impact on policy, business and society. The summit brought together policymakers and higher education leaders, including NITI Aayog member Abhay Karandikar.
