Khammam: Seeking reopening of schools across the State, members of Private Teachers Association, other teacher unions and all student unions took out a huge rally from Rikka Bazar to the Collectorate in Khammam town on Wednesday. STF Teachers Association State general secretary Devarakonda Saidulu launched the rally.

The protestors said that private school teachers have suffered without salaries and without jobs as the government has closed schools from last March due to Covid-19. Closure of schools had affected teachers and also students, they added. The protestors demanded the government for opening both government and private schools and to conduct classes as per Covid norms. They also appealed to the government to give financial assistance to all private school teachers as special packages.

Later, the representatives submitted a memorandum to District Collector RV Karnan at his office. Various teacher union leaders P Nagewsara Rao, Nagi Reddy, representatives of SFI, AISF, PDSU, student organisations and private school teacher associations and others participated in the rally.
