Class VIII student found dead near bus stand in Owk

Kurnool: Tension prevailed at St Mary’s English Medium High School in Owk mandal on Wednesday after a 13-year-old Class VIII student was found dead under suspicious circumstances near the Owk bus stand.

The deceased was identified as Thoka Nikhil of Belum village in Kolimigundla mandal, who was staying in the school hostel.

Upon receiving information from the police, the boy’s parents, Thoka Suresh and Thoka Indiramma, rushed to the scene and broke down in grief.

Expressing deep suspicion, the parents questioned how a student residing in the school hostel was found dead near the bus stand. Alleging murder, they demanded a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

Tension escalated as grieving relatives attempted to confront the school management, accusing authorities of severe negligence. Police personnel deployed at the scene intervened swiftly to prevent the situation from turning violent.

Nikhil’s mother tearfully appealed to the media, asserting her belief that her son was killed and demanding justice.

Banaganapalle Rural Circle Inspector Manjunath Reddy arrived at the location to assess the situation and maintain law and order. Police shifted the body to the Avuku Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination and registered a case.

An extensive investigation is underway to uncover the exact sequence of events and determine whether foul play or institutional negligence was involved.
