Nellore: District authorities have finalized elaborate arrangements for the 11-day Sri Rajarajeswari Ammavari Sarannavaratri Utsavams, scheduled to begin on October 11 and conclude on October 21 at Dargamitta in Nellore.

Anticipating massive turnout from the city and surrounding mandals, local administration and police teams have instituted comprehensive bandobust measures.

Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy held an inter-departmental review meeting to ensure seamless coordination across municipal, revenue, and security agencies.

Addressing specific security needs for female devotees staying on temple grounds to perform Pradakshinams, police have set up a dedicated Police Outpost connected directly to the District Police Office Command Control Room.

Superintendent of Police Dr Ajitha Vejendla directed DSPs and city officers to prioritize crowd management, emergency response, and public safety.

Following her orders, ASP and SDPO Deeksha, accompanied by Temple Executive Officer Sridhar Naidu, inspected the venue on Saturday. The team evaluated movement channels, queue lines, parking facilities, and entry-exit gates.

Given the temple’s location along the key arterial corridor connecting to the Gudur–Tirupati National Highway, special traffic diversions have been mapped out to prevent congestion.

Officers on duty have been instructed to maintain continuous vigilance and act swiftly upon identifying any suspicious activity throughout the 11-day festival.
