Tirupati: The TDP-led NDA alliance has made significant gains in the ZPTC and MPTC elections in Tirupati, Chittoor and Annamayya districts, reversing the political trend witnessed in the 2021 Parishad elections when YSRCP Party dominated the erstwhile Chittoor district.

The alliance has established a clear lead in the ZPTC and MPTC results, with TDP emerging as the principal winner. The NDA had also registered a clear lead in the postal ballot count, indicating a shift in the electoral fortunes of the ruling alliance in the three districts.

According to the latest MPTC results, TDP has won 739 seats across the three districts, while its alliance partners Jana Sena and BJP have secured 12 and 16 seats respectively. YSRCP has won 154 MPTC seats, while independents and other candidates have secured 29 seats.

In Tirupati district, TDP won 263 MPTC seats, followed by YSRCP with 61 seats. BJP secured 12 seats, while other candidates won 27 seats. Jana Sena failed to win an MPTC seat in the district.

In Chittoor district, TDP secured 263 MPTC seats, while YSRCP won 66 seats. Jana Sena and BJP secured nine and two seats respectively, while others won one seat.

In Annamayya district, TDP won 213 MPTC seats, followed by YSRCP with 27 seats. Jana Sena secured three seats, while the BJP and other candidates won two and one seats respectively.

The ZPTC results have also reflected the TDP-led alliance’s performance. TDP has so far won 39 ZPTC seats and is leading in another 16 seats across the three districts. Jana Sena has won one seat, while BJP has secured two seats and is leading in one more.

YSRCP has won three ZPTC seats and is leading in five others, according to the latest figures.

In Tirupati district, TDP has won 15 ZPTC seats and is leading in five, while BJP has won one and is leading in another. YSRCP has secured three seats and is leading in three more. In Chittoor district, TDP has won 12 ZPTC seats and is leading in six. Jana Sena has secured one seat, while YSRCP is leading in one seat. In Annamayya district, TDP has won 12 ZPTC seats and is leading in five. BJP has secured one seat, while YSRCP is leading in one seat.

Interestingly, YSRCP candidate Kamireddy Satyanarayana Reddy has won Pellakuru ZPTC seat with a majority of 1,708 votes. While he was in jail, his family members campaigned on his behalf.

YSRCP leaders alleged that cases were foisted against him and he was sent to jail solely because he was contesting the election on behalf of the party.

The results mark a reversal of the 2021 Parishad election trend, when the YSRCP had swept the undivided Chittoor district, winning all 33 ZPTC seats and 389 MPTC seats in the counting held at the time.

The current results across the three reorganised districts indicate a substantial change in the political equation.
