Tirupati: Former Rajya Sabha Member V Vijayasai Reddy unveiled five new proposals for Tirupati on Thursday, adding them to 15 earlier announcements made in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Anantapur. The proposals centre on protecting Hindu Dharma, promoting social equality, reforming Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), securing Tirumala and providing free education.

He said that his proposed party would welcome people of all castes and religions, respect every community and raise public issues through constructive criticism while rejecting the use of caste or religion for political gain. He alleged that YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy exploits religion for political advantage and demanded that he embrace Hinduism. ‘The party would welcome him if he returned to the faith.’

The former MP sought a law imposing up to four years’ imprisonment on those, who bar Hindu Dalits from temples, insisting temples remain open to all Hindus. He also flagged rising religious conversions driven by foreign influence, claiming about 8,000 churches operate in the State and urged the government to prevent forced conversions and monitor religious activities.

Warning of a severe water crisis in Rayalaseema, Vijayasai Reddy called for immediate action on drinking water and irrigation. For TTD, he proposed abolishing the Trust Board, excluding political leaders, involving mutt heads, handing the Seven Hills to TTD and entrusting Tirumala security to the Centre.

He further promised liquor prohibition in Tirupati, a world Hindu religious organisation, relocation of Christian missionary institutions and Sri Venkateswara schools offering free education. These steps, he said, reflect the party’s commitment to Hindu Dharma, social equality, transparent temple administration and the welfare of Tirupati’s people.
