Markapur: Pankaj Kumar Meena took charge as the Superintendent of Police of the Markapur district on Thursday. Police officers and staff received him at the district police office and wished him well.
Speaking to the media after assuming charge, he thanked the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police for his first posting as a district SP.
He assured that the police administration would function strictly according to the law and that no one who violates it would be spared.
He informed that land disputes are a major issue in the district and that he would work with revenue officials to resolve them within one to two weeks. The SP said he will be available at the Public Grievance Redressal System programme, held at the district police office every Monday, and that DSPs, inspectors, and section officers will be available at their offices to address public complaints.
On illegal activities, he warned that strict action would be taken against land encroachment and ganja smuggling. He urged the public not to share unverified information on WhatsApp and social media.
Before this posting, Meena served as OSD in Rampachodavaram and as ASP in Chintoor in the Polavaram district region.
