BJP state president Somu Veerraju alleged that the state government is waging a ‘guerilla war’ against the Hindus

Visakhapatnam: BJP state president Somu Veerraju alleged that the state government is waging a 'guerilla war' against the Hindus. Speaking to the media in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, Veerraju said the government failed to arrest those who demolished the idols in the temples but however, continued to file cases against Hindus in various incidents.

He demanded arrangements for the darshan at Ramateertham temple in Vizianagaram as the BJP leaders are visiting it on Thursday. The BJP state president opined that there is a fear in the ruling party that the BJP-Jana Sena alliance is getting strengthened in AP.

Denying allegations made by the Adviser (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna that the BJP is merely surviving in AP, Veerraju suggested that the YSRCP leader check the YSCRP's presence in the state when Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the home minister in Delhi next time.

Exuding confidence that the BJP-Jana Sena alliance will show its might in the by-elections in Tirupati, Veerraju said that they do not have a habit of pursuing 'vote bank politics' like the TDP and the YSRCP.

He alleged that during the TDP's reign, 30 temples were demolished in Pushkaralu and not a single one was rebuilt.

Terming maintenance of law and order as the state government's basic responsibility, the BJP leader clarified that there was no need to call for a CBI probe into the Ramateertham incident.

Veerraju expressed anger over allegations made by the YSCRP that the opposition was conspiring to divert public attention when the government is taking a big leap towards implementing welfare schemes. "In which state are welfare schemes not being implemented? What is so great about it?" he wondered.

He demanded the ruling party to do some groundwork and find out how many thousands of crores the Centre had granted to the districts and get a clear picture of the state government's share in it. Veerraju alleged that the government is humiliating Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he belongs to the backward class. MLC P V N Madhav, former MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju and others were present.
