Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam has been witnessing a gradual fall in coronavirus cases registered on a daily basis.
On Wednesday, the district recorded 58 fresh cases, taking the tally to 58,383. However, the death toll remained 504.
In the last 24 hours, 137 got discharged from various hospitals after getting completely recovered from the virus. With this, the total recovery rose up to 56,794.
In the recent past, Visakhapatnam has been registering a low number of Covid-19 cases. This is leading to complacency among the public that is often seen gathering in groups without following safety protocols.
However, health officials warn against such negligence and caution the people to continue following Covid-19 safety protocols.
Many are seen gathering at various places and junctions even without a mask. While schools are getting reopened in a phased manner, people started moving around without maintaining social distance.
With the season being unfavourable, health officials underline the need to consider safety protocols to maintain the downward trend in the coming days.
