Hyderabad: SOT, KPHB police arrest house burglar
He committed 18 burglaries in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Special Operations Team (SOT) of Madhapur along with KPHB police on Saturday nabbed a notorious house burglar who had committed 18 property offences in multiple commissionerates and seized gold ornaments weighing 1013 grams and 3.2 kgs of silver all worth Rs 70 lakh. The accused was identified as, Baswaraju Prakash and native of Bangalore, Karnataka State.
V C Sajjanar in a press conference said that, the accused is a notorious house burglar and had committed 18 burglaries in and around Hyderabad. He committed 6 house burglaries in Cyberabad commissionerate, 7 in Sangareddy commissionerate, 7 in Rachakonda commissionerate and 2 in Tamil Nadu.
He said, "The modus operandi of the accused was to commit a burglary from a locked house during night times. In order to do that, he would recee the entire area a day in advance and would strike accordingly. After committing the offence, he used to sell the gold ornaments to pawn brokers in his State and earned money illegally to fulfill his lavish lifestyle."
However his plans were foiled when the SOT received a tip-off that the said accused was in the city and was planning to strike again. Upon receiving the tip-off the cops laid a trap and nabbed him, stated the officer.
