Coronavirus in India: India has recorded more than 6000 cases over the last 24 hours as per the data put out by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The total number of cases has now risen to 1,18,447 with 66,330 active cases, 48,533 cases of those who have been cured or discharged and 3,583 deaths.

Maharashtra continues to report high numbers of confirmed coronavirus cases with the total in the state now climbing to 41,642. The state has now brought 80% of beds and all private hospitals in all districts of Maharashtra under its control till August 31, 2020, through an order passed under the Epidemic Diseases Act. The Maharashtra state government will regulate the use of total hospital bed capacity all over the state. The state government has also capped the cost of treatment in private hospitals to COVID-19 patients.

Tamil Nadu has reported 13,967 confirmed coronavirus cases with a low death rate of 39 fatalities. Gujarat has also been reporting high numbers of confirmed coronavirus cases and is inching close to 13,000 cases. The current tally of Covid 19 cases in the western state stands at 12,905 with a high fatality rate of 773 deaths.

Delhi has been reporting high numbers of COVID-19 positive cases with the tally now standing at 11,659 cases and 194 deaths.

Rajasthan has recorded 6,227 coronavirus positive cases with 151 deaths so far. Madhya Pradesh has reported 5,981 confirmed coronavirus cases with a high death rate of 270 fatalities.

These are the six states in the country which have been contributing the most in terms case-load of coronavirus positive cases.
