Death threat to Union Minister Giriraj Singh, FIR registered in Begusarai

Union Minister and Begusarai MP Giriraj Singh has reportedly received a death threat through an anonymous letter sent to his ministry office in New Delhi, prompting the registration of an FIR at Begusarai Town police station and the launch of an investigation.

According to police, an anonymous letter addressed to Giriraj Singh was delivered by post to his ministry office in New Delhi on September 3.

The letter allegedly contained a threat to kill the Union Minister and also made references to terrorists.

Yogendra Singh, the Union Minister’s private secretary, informed the Begusarai Superintendent of Police (SP) about the letter.

Following the information, the SP’s office directed the Begusarai Town police station to register a case. An FIR was subsequently registered on September 4 on the basis of a complaint by Town SHO Satish Kumar Himanshu.

The police have begun efforts to trace the sender and establish the circumstances behind the threat. Police said the threatening letter was written in English and contained two mobile numbers.

It also mentioned the name and address of a person from a village in Srinivaspur taluka of Karnataka’s Kolar district.

The FIR has named the sender as an unknown accused, while also recording the names, addresses and mobile numbers mentioned in the letter as part of the investigation.

Investigators are now examining the mobile numbers and other details contained in the letter to determine whether they can help identify the person who sent it.

The police are investigating the connection between the individuals, address, and mobile numbers mentioned in the letter and the alleged threat.

They are also verifying whether the address and contact details belong to the people identified in the letter and whether they have any connection with the incident.

Officials are examining all available leads to establish the identity of the sender and determine the motive behind the threat.

Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
