Gurugram hit-and-run accused Kalyan Bainsla and three others had reportedly been drinking after partying through the night before the incident in which a woman biker was allegedly hit by a car on Golf Course Road, according to sources in the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Bainsla, 33, was allegedly driving a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz when the incident occurred on Sunday. His cousin Lavnish, 34, was sitting in the front passenger seat. Both men were arrested in Rajasthan on Tuesday and are currently in custody.

SIT Reconstructs Events Before Crash

According to the SIT sources, Bainsla first encountered biker Sia near the Sector 53 Metro station. An altercation reportedly followed, after which Bainsla allegedly began pursuing her motorcycle.

The SIT is probing the role of Lavnish, who allegedly instigated Bainsla following the altercation.

Investigators believe the car followed Sia for approximately 2 kilometres at high speed before colliding with her motorcycle.

The crash was captured on an action camera mounted on Sia’s superbike. The footage later circulated widely on social media, drawing attention to the incident and raising concerns over road safety and the safety of women bikers.

Other Two Occupants Questioned

Police have also issued notices to the two other men who were travelling in the car at the time of the incident.

Their statements will be recorded by the SIT before investigators decide whether further arrests are required, according to sources.

Meanwhile, blood and urine samples collected from Bainsla have been sent for testing. The results are awaited and could form part of the investigation into allegations that the occupants had been drinking before the crash.

Bainsla And Cousin Arrested In Rajasthan

Bainsla and Lavnish were arrested in Rajasthan on Tuesday after the Gurugram incident.

Police said Bainsla subsequently attempted to flee custody while asking to use the washroom. He reportedly fell during the attempt and sustained injuries. He was later taken to a hospital, where he received first aid.

The investigation is continuing, with authorities examining the circumstances leading up to the collision, the conduct of the occupants and the sequence of events captured in the viral footage.

Woman Biker Seeks Action Against Other Occupants

Sia has also called for action against the two other men who were present in the vehicle.

Following Bainsla’s arrest, she urged authorities to ensure that the remaining occupants are also investigated and, if found to have a role in the incident, face appropriate legal action.

The case has drawn widespread attention after the camera footage surfaced online, with the investigation now focusing on the alleged pursuit, the conduct of the occupants and the circumstances surrounding the collision.
