NEW DELHI: On Tuesday, Sunny Deol the Bollywood actor-turned-politician, of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who is the candidate from Gurdaspur Punjab for the 2019 Lok Sabha election had said that, he does not know much about the Balakot airstrikes that have been carried out by the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Sunny Deol admitted that he does not know much about the Balakot airstrikes or India-Pakistan relations.

On February 27, the airstrikes in Pakistan Balakot were conducted, days after Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) carried out a terror attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir.

During a campaign rally, when Sunny Deol was questioned about the Balakot airstrikes, he said that he does not know anything about "these things". "What strikes? I don't know anything about these things or India's relations with Pakistan. I only want to win and serve the country," he told a source.

Sunny Deol also said that if he wins the Lok Sabha constituency of Gurdaspur, he "maybe would have an opinion". "Right now I don't."
