A spokesman of the CRDA at Vijayawada and Guntur said that consent letters will be received from the farmers till late night and if necessary later. To ensure no incidents take place during the land pooling process, additional police forces are deployed in key villages.


P Narayana, the Minister in charge of the land polling operations visited several water front lay outs at Nidamarru, Bethapudi and Mangalagiri villages. Additional incentives of land and housing plots for farmers who voluntarily offered land for the CRDA was announced by the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.


So far, 25,000 acres of land has been acquired under Land Pooling by the state and require 15-20,000 acres more that is to be acquired under the land acquisition act. Also, compensation for crop loss was announced by the AP government for a period of 3 years from date of assuming their lands along with clearing the farm loan debts in CRDA (Rs. 200 crore) for these farmers in one shot.
