The office of Narsaraopet Grameena Cable Vision office at Navodaya Nagar in Nararasaropeta town was allegedly ransacked by persons belonging to rival A.K. Cable backed by a TDP MLA who destroyed the cable equipment and furniture at midnight on Sunday.

Police said unidentified men barged into the office at midnight by breaking open the doors and ransacked the cable equipment, including the studio room. The loss of property has been assessed at Rs.5 lakh. Police suspect that the incident as a fallout of rivalry between the two cable operators.

The Grameena cable vision alleged that their rival A.K. Cable backed by a TDP MLA and the son of another senior leader was behind the attack. The two operators were engaged in a feud over expanding their network in the town and Vision accused A.K. Cable of poaching into their region and cutting their cable connections, the police said.
