Suzuki has launched a new paint scheme of its Gixxer to be sold in Colombia. The paint scheme, as the name suggested, sees the normal bike painted in a full matte black scheme, which makes the bike look stealthy and mean.

The Gixxer logo on the bikini fairing has also been changed, and is now written in gloss black, with the ‘xx’ finished in orange and red as before. There are other gloss black decals as well, which can be seen on the tank and behind the brake and gear levers. The pillion grab handles are also finished in gloss, and so is the twin port exhaust, which blends well with the overall matte-gloss design theme.

Mechanically the Suzuki Gixxer is still the same. It is powered by the same 155cc carbureted engine that churns out 14.8 HP of power and 14 Nm of torque. It still gets the old front disc and rear drum set up for the brakes, in spite of the rear disc version being launched in India, as the version hasn’t been launched yet in Colombia. It also gets the same suspension set up, with beefy 41 mm telescopic forks up front and a monoschock at the rear.

There is no news regarding its release on Indian shores. We can only hope that Suzuki choose to release it in India as it gives the bike a very mean look. The bike is priced in Colombia for COP 73,50,000, which roughly translates to Rs 1.6 lakh. In India the bike may be priced around Rs 90,000 (on-road, Mumbai). This is, if it is ever released.
