Stage actor Prasad bags Jandhyala Award
Legend writer and director Jandhyala memorial award has been presented to stage actor HVRS Prasad at the concluding function of Jandhayala 15 Annual celebrations. The Programme was organised by Kalamanjari Cultural Welfare Association at Veledandla Hanumantharaya Library hall.

The programme commenced with a classical dance by Polavarapu Sai Manaswini and Lalita Sahiti. They presented ‘Ganesh stuti’, ‘Kodalalo nelakonna’ and ‘Bala Gopala Tarangam’. Both the artistes performed well and the audience appreciated the performance.
The Jandhyala award was presented with a citation to artiste, director HVRS Prasad by the former High Court Justice CY Somayajulu, High Court advocate GVNRSSS Varaprasad, Bezawada Bar Association President and advocate Ch Manmadha Rao and Polavarapu Sobhanadri. Many organisations and individual artistes also garlanded Prasad on this occasion.
Famous film Music Director Madhavapeddi Suresh and actress ‘Dubbing’ Janaki spoke about Jandhyala and his talent in extracting comedy from artistes. Dr MC Das, GRK Murthy were also present on the dais. President of the organisation AV Ramana has presided over the function.
Later a Young Theater Oraganisation, staged a comedy playlet ‘ Khel Khatam Duknam Bandh’ written by Veerla Vara Prasad and directed by R Vasu. The artistes Nagaraju, Vijaya kumar, Mohaneswara Rao, Vaddadi Satyam, Sri Jaya acted well and spread laughs in the auditorium. Raju has rendered apt musical support to this playlet.
On the first day ‘Ek din ka Sultan’ was staged by Sri Sivakrishna Kalakarula Ananya Samakya, Vijayawada. The play was penned by Jandhyala and directed by ES Pavan Kumar. The director E Ramesh, Kanta Rao and others also acted in the playlet. E Ramesh Babu was felicitated on the first day.
Jyothirmayi Cultural Vijayawada presented Bhamidipati Radhakrishna’s playlet ‘Bhajantreelu’ on Saturday evening. Director P Brahmananda Rao along with Nareen, Cheruvu Adinarayana Sarma, Pilla Nataraj have performed main characters. Dance master Sappa Sivakumar and LSRK Prasad were felicitated on second day of the function. PVL Nrisimham, Chivukula Hara Gopal and Venigalla Bhaskar organised the programmes.
