He presented a paper on Hemangiopericytoma of the right maxilla in a 62 year old lady who presented with recurrent profuse nasal bleeding. Hemangiopericytoma (HPC) is a very rare malignant vascular tumor arising from the soft tissues.
Dr Sashikanth Jonnalagadda, MD, Consultant and HOD, Head and Neck Surgery, Citizens Hospital presented a paper in the 6th Congress of the European Rhinologic Society in conjunction with the 35th Congress of the International Society of Inflammation and Allergy of the Nose (ISIAN) and the 17th Congress of the International Rhinologic Society (IRS) took place in Stockholm, Sweden on 3-6 July 2016. He was among the 500 eminent doctors attending the event from around the world.
He presented a paper on Hemangiopericytoma of the right maxilla in a 62 year old lady who presented with recurrent profuse nasal bleeding. Hemangiopericytoma (HPC) is a very rare malignant vascular tumor arising from the soft tissues. Primary Hemangiopericytoma of bone is even rarer and only 25 cases have been described till now.
Dr Sashikanth Jonnalagadda’s Paper was highly appreciated within the medical community present at the event. International Rhinologic Society is a great platform for doctors across the globe to discuss on various latest trends and developments in the area of research in Rhinology.
Sharing his experience about the event, Dr Jonnalagadda said, “26th Congress of the European Rhinologic Society was a great platform for rhinological education and helped me and other fellow participants in many ways to advance our knowledge as per the latest trends and advancements in this field of treatment.”
The event is a combined effort of ISIAN and IRS to provide a wide ranging exposition of to provide ‘state of the art’ updates on basic science, translational and clinical advances which will be of help to rhinologists at all stages of their career.
The presentations on various Rhinological Disorders were particularly appropriate to provide the participantswith an advanced outlook on scientific and economic challenges faced by the doctors around the world.
The European Rhinologic Society provides a forum for the exchange of experience among specialists, interested in rhinology, allergy, related facial plastic surgery and other fields.
