Naga Sravan Kilaru, Founder President of ‘Vijayawada Needs U’ (VnU), has been selected as an international delegate from India for the Youth Assembly at the United Nations to be held at New York City from August 10 to 12.

At present, Sravan is working with fellow youth participants from Canada, USA, Brazil, Malaysia and a few other countries to make proposals on the involvement of youth in policy making and also on how to use youth as a resource to implement SDGs.

He will also attend the 71st Regular Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 71) at the UN Headquarters from September 13, which will be addressed by 193 heads of nations.

Commenting on the selection, Sravan said, “My aim is to find likeminded youth and organisations at the UN Youth and General Assembly and collaborate with them to evolve policies for the benefit of youth.”

The theme of the Youth Assembly is “Transform Vision into Action” which focuses on roadmap for 2030 for implementation of ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ (SDGs). According to a recent study, India was ranked 110th out of 149 countries in implementation of SDGs.
