Chess tournament in memory of sports journalists
Telangana Chess Association is planning to organise two major chess tournaments in the month of May. While addressing the media here on Sunday, the general secretary of the association A venkateswara Rao said that the Kammam FIDE Open International Tourney would be held from May 5 to 10 and Telangana FIDE Below 2000 International tournament from May 30 to June 4.

While addressing the media here on Sunday, the general secretary of the association A venkateswara Rao said that the Kammam FIDE Open International Tourney would be held from May 5 to 10 and Telangana FIDE Below 2000 International tournament from May 30 to June 4.
The tournaments are being organised in memory of sports journalists of the State, B Jaya Prakash and J Srinivas who passed away recently. The two tourneys are named by the two journalists. B Jaya Prakash from Madhira of Khammam district was a young sports journalist popular in print media. J Srinivas from Mahabubnagar was a senior journalist who actively served in different associations alongside sports journalism.
On this occasion, event codes allotted by FIDE through All India Chess Federation (AICF) were released. Brochures, prospectus, circulars, logos including special postal stamps will be released along with video and audio presentation would be released as the tournament approaches, organisers said.
Madhu Tata secretary of TANA, Vonkayalapati Kiran of AIRTEL, K Raghu, Rajavasireddy Nagendra Kumar chairman of Resonance Educational Institutes, Elluri Ramakrishna, Pottabattina Venkateswarulu Management of Sequel Resorts, Karnati Veerabadram secretary of Jubilee Club were present.
