Hevalambi New Year celebrations were celebrated on Tuesday by Kalamanjari Samskrutika Seva Samstha in association with C Ramamohanrao and Gollpudi Subrahmanyam Memorial Educational and Cultural Organisation at Sri Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College.

The disciples of Maddali Sai Chandrika performed Kuchipudi dance items for the occasion. Deepanvita, Mohanvitha, Manaswini and pujita presented “Tandava Nrityakare”, “Bhavamulona” and “Jayamu Jayamu Lalitakala vaniki” while Mahalakshmi performed “Paluke bangaramayana”.
The event also consisted of the mono act, “Ravana Brahma” by Bandi Srinivasa Rao. The students of Music College presented a Veena recital.
Yesteryear’s movie artiste, singer, music director and producer V Nagaiah award was presented to another veteran stage artiste, writer and director NP Kanneswara Rao of Tenali.
