Deputy Police Commissioner of Vijayawada (Traffic) Kranti Rana Tata inaugurated Chess summer coaching camp at Global Chess Academy (GCA) in Moghalrajapuram in Vijayawada on Tuesday. About 100 children are taking Chess coaching at GCA and it will be continued for 45 days.

Speaking on the occasion Traffic DCP Kranti Rana congratulated parents for encouraging their children in playing Chess. The game would be helpful to improve the memory and concentration, he said.

Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh had produced Chess Grand Masters (GM) like P Hari Krishna, Koneru Humpy, D Harika, MR Lalith Babu and several International Fide Rated players, he added.

“I am professional Chess player and my son is also taking Chess coaching. Chess will definitely improve children memory and they are concentrating on studies also” he said.

GCA secretary Sk Khasim said that his academy would produce future world chess champions and also support young players. He further said that he has been giving chess coaching since 2002. Summer coaching camps are held at GCA, Gollapudi, Bhavanipuram and Gurunanak Colony, he added.

Sk Khasim informed that International Chess players, Rated players are giving coaching to children, Daily four batches have been taking coaching, he added. Krishna District Sports Authority (DSA) extends its support GCA summer coaching camp, he explained.
