Ace designer Manish Malhotra says that he is excited to debut in cocktail dresses for women and bespoke suits for men with his show at Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2017 that will start from August 16 at the St Regis hotel here.

"My LFW collection Tales Of Indulgence will be much different from all my previous collections. The collection melds together traditional embroidery techniques and motifs with the label's signature glamour to create festive ensembles with a global appeal, yet distinctly Indian in their form.

"Its the first time I've curated a collection that includes cocktail dresses," the designer told IANS. Talking about the silhouettes, he said that it will be much different now.

"It's more young, more colourful, more black - a colour that I've never used this extensively before for women. With this collection, we've taken a step forward in terms of innovation and design by introducing bespoke suits for men - a bespoke tailoring service that will also be available at our flagships store in Mumbai and New Delhi," he said.

"For women, the collection will be curated in myriad fabrics, including handcrafted detailing and beautiful embroidery. The entire collection is being presented with Nexa and it has entirely been devised and designed using the recently launched Apple iPad Pro," he added.

Malhotra is also going to showcase bespoke suits for men for the first time. "After a successful menswear show at LFW a few seasons ago, the new collection 'Tales of Indulgence' is a step forward through a renewed focus on the segment.

"With this collection, we've taken a step forward in terms of innovation and design by also introducing a bespoke tailoring service that will be available at our flagships store in Mumbai and New Delhi," he said.

Talking about associating with the designer, R. S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki said "We are delighted to associate with LFW Winter/Festive 2017. The platform offers a platform for designers to create new styles and trends. This encapsulates a dose of entertainment, style, celebrity glamour spell, which is a vibrant hub of experiences and complements the ideologies of the brand."
