Hundreds of devotees take a holy dip in Krishna river on Friday to mark Karthika Pournami which is considered auspicious for Hindus.

Pournami began on Friday noon and it will continue till Saturday morning. To mark the occasion, several hundred devotees took holy dip at Durga ghat in Krishna river.

Similarly, devotees took holy dip in Muktyala, Nandigama, Nagayalanka, Yanamalakuduru, Hamsala Deevi and other places along Krishna river. Devotees thronged the Siva temples to offer special prayers. Devotees also lit lamps in the temples on Friday night.

A large number of devotees took a holy dip in Manginapudi beach of Krishna district and a holy bath will continue on Saturday as well.
