Nidadavole: A lorry driver created mild tension in Brahmanagudem in Chagallu on Friday, by climbing a cell tower and threatening to commit suicide by jumping off it.

The driver, Thota Venkateswara Rao reached Brahmanagudem village in Chagallu mandal in the morning and climbed a cell tower in the town and started shouting that he would commit suicide by jumping from the tower.

The Nidadavole CI, Balakrishna and police personnel reached the spot and tried to convince him.

According to the lorry driver, a contractor got a contract in Brahmanagudem Panchayati in Chagallu mandal. The driver had mediated with a person to give material to the contractor on credit. As the contractor failed to pay the amount in time, the person who gave the material started pressurising the driver to pay the amount.

Following this, the vexed driver climbed the cell tower. The CI asked him to get down from the tower as he was ready to solve the problem. Following the assurance of CI, the driver came down from the tower. The CI warned him not to indulge in such activities and assured to solve his problem. Following this, the tension eased in the village.
